Fence Installation in Bahama, NC
Gates and access come up first on almost every Bahama job. These are working properties — pasture, barns, equipment that has to move — and a fence that does not let a trailer through where it needs to is a daily annoyance for years. So we start by asking what has to pass, where, and how often, and then design the line around that instead of the other way around.
The parcels here run large, from a few acres along Bahama Road out to the bigger tracts near the Little River. That changes the economics of fencing in a way suburban homeowners rarely think about: material choice matters less than line length, clearing, and corner count. A board fence across open pasture and the same board fence through a wooded tree line are very different numbers, and we would rather walk it and tell you that up front than quote from a satellite image.
Northern Durham County ground is heavy clay that holds water through a wet winter and moves when it freezes. On a long run, that movement will find any post that was not set properly. Every post goes in concrete, corners and gates get more of it, and on pasture lines we plan bracing at the corners so tension does not slowly pull the whole run out of true.
Not every job out here is agricultural. Plenty of Bahama homeowners want a wood privacy fence around the yard near the house or ornamental aluminum along the front of the property, and we install those the same week we are building pasture line down the road. Call (919) 335-4008 — we answer around the clock, seven days a week — and we will set up a free on-site estimate.

Bahama Fence Questions
What fence do you recommend for horses?
Board fence is the standard for good reason. It is visible enough that a horse respects it, and there is nothing thin for a leg to get caught in. Where you also need to hold smaller animals or discourage predators, we run woven wire below a board top line. Rail count and height depend on the animals and how hard they lean on a line.
How wide should a driveway gate be out here?
Wider than most people first guess. We ask what the largest thing coming through is — a truck and stock trailer, a hay wagon, a tractor with an implement on the back — and size to that with room to turn in. Gate posts for a wide opening get set deeper and in more concrete, since they carry the entire swing load.
Will digging hit my well line or septic field?
Not if we know where they are. Rural properties have water lines, septic fields, and sometimes old buried lines that are not on any map. Show us what you know during the measure, we will call in utility locates, and we route the fence around anything we cannot safely cross.
Is there a limit to how much fence you will take on?
No practical limit for a residential or small-farm property. We quote by the foot with the corners, gates, and clearing broken out, so a two-hundred-foot backyard run and a half-mile perimeter get priced the same honest way.
