Fence Installation in Timberlake, NC
Timberlake is not subdivision country, and the fence work here does not look like it. Properties along the US-501 corridor between Roxboro and the Durham County line are measured in acres, addresses sit well back from the road, and the runs we install are long enough that the layout matters more than the picket style. Getting a quarter mile of fence to look straight is a function of string lines, consistent post spacing and reading the grade, not of what is in the catalog.
The land itself is the main variable. Southern Person County is farm and timber ground, which means fence lines cross open pasture, wood edges and old field boundaries in a single run. Before we quote, we walk it. That walk tells us where brush has to come out, where the ground breaks and needs a post added, where rock is likely, and where a creek or a low spot needs a plan of its own rather than a straight line through it.
For property boundaries and frontage, split rail and post-and-rail do the most work out here. They mark the line, they look right against pasture and treeline, and they hold up in pressure-treated pine without constant upkeep. Where animals are involved, woven wire is the containment layer, and mesh-backed rail is the safe configuration around horses because there is nothing sharp for an animal to catch.
Closer to the house, the requests are ordinary residential ones. A privacy panel around a back yard, a wood run to screen a propane tank or a shop, a fenced area for dogs. Pressure-treated wood with StayStrong pickets is the common choice, and vinyl with PrivacyLock rails is the answer for people who are done maintaining anything. Every post goes in concrete either way, because clay this far north freezes hard enough in January to lift a post that was only tamped in.

Timberlake Fence Questions
Do you clear the fence line, or does it need to be cleared before you arrive?
We handle light brush and saplings as part of normal layout. What we do not do is take down mature trees or grind stumps, and a line that runs through standing timber needs to be opened up before a crew shows up with fence material. On the estimate we will walk the run and tell you plainly which parts we will clear and which parts you need someone else for, so nobody is surprised on install day.
Will a fence keep deer out of a garden or an orchard?
A standard four to six foot fence will not reliably stop a determined deer, and we would rather say that than sell you one. Deer exclusion depends mostly on height and on the animal not being able to see a clean landing on the other side. If deer pressure is the actual problem, tell us that at the estimate so we can talk through taller woven wire options instead of building something that will not solve it.
Can you fence only part of the property, like the road frontage?
Yes, and it is a common way to spend money where it shows. Frontage fencing along a rural road defines the property and frames the driveway without the cost of enclosing every acre. We build the ends so a future run can tie into them cleanly if you decide to continue the line later.
How do you handle roots and rock when you are digging posts?
Person County ground has plenty of both. Roots we cut through and work around. Rock is the harder problem, and when the auger stops we adjust the post location slightly rather than leaving a post short of depth, because a shallow post is a fence failure with a delay on it. If a run hits rock consistently, we will talk to you about it before pushing on.
