Fence Installation in Roxboro, NC
Roxboro asks for two very different jobs, sometimes in the same week. In town, uptown and the streets around it, the housing stock is older, the lots are narrower, and the side yards are often too tight to bring equipment through. That work is careful and largely by hand: taking down a tired chain link or a wood fence that has gone soft at the base, working around mature roots, and rebuilding on a line that has been there long enough that both neighbors have opinions about it.
Out toward Hyco Lake and Mayo Lake, the priorities flip. Those lots slope, they catch wind off open water, and almost nobody wants a solid six-foot panel between the house and the view. Ornamental aluminum does most of the work there, in a black SolarShield finish that holds up to sun and damp without rust or repainting. Where privacy is the point, along a side lot line or around an equipment pad, we run vinyl or wood and keep the open sightline where it matters.
Person County weather earns some respect. This is the northern edge of the Piedmont, and winter ice comes through hard enough to load fence lines with limbs and freeze the ground solid. Combine that with red clay that swells wet and shrinks dry, and you get the reason we set every post in concrete and use galvanized hardware on wood fences. Gate hardware fails before fence panels do, and it fails fastest where humidity and freeze cycles trade off all year.
Material choice tends to sort itself out on the walk-through. Vinyl privacy with PrivacyLock rails is the low-maintenance default for back yards. Pressure-treated wood with StayStrong pickets and HeartWood board is the pick when you want real timber and are willing to seal it every few years. Aluminum covers the decorative front-yard runs, pool enclosures and anything on the water.

Roxboro Fence Questions
Do you really cover Person County, or is Roxboro too far out?
Roxboro is inside our service area and we install there regularly. Being at the northern end of the territory does change how we plan a job. We stage materials so the crew is not making extra trips, and we try to schedule Person County work in blocks. It does not change how the fence gets built.
My existing fence is leaning. Is that a repair or a replacement?
It depends on why it leans. If two or three posts have shifted and the rest of the fence is sound, resetting those posts in concrete is the fix. If the posts are rotted at the soil line along the whole run, or the wood has gone soft where the hardware attaches, you are paying twice to repair it. We will tell you which one you have when we look at it, and we do not upsell a replacement on a fence that has years left.
What kind of fence will not block the view from a lake lot?
Ornamental aluminum. The pickets are narrow, the sightline stays open, and a SolarShield powder-coat finish handles sun and moisture without rusting or needing paint. Black is the usual pick because it visually recedes against water and trees. If you need privacy on the side yards but not toward the water, we mix materials on the same property all the time.
Once the job is scheduled, how long does a residential fence take?
Most single-family fences are a one to three day install once materials are on site, depending on the length of the run, the number of gates and how the ground behaves. Rock, roots and steep grade slow things down. You will get a realistic schedule with the written quote rather than a guess on the phone.
