Wake Forest Fence Installation

Wake Forest still feels like two towns. There is the original one, laid out around the old college campus with brick storefronts on South White Street and houses that have been standing since well before anyone thought of it as a Raleigh suburb. Then there is everything built since the north Wake boom took hold, which is a lot. The fence you want depends heavily on which of those two you live in.

Downtown and the older streets

Near the historic core, wood is almost always the right call. Board-on-board and shadow-box builds in pressure-treated pine suit the scale of older lots and older houses, and picket styles read properly along a front yard where a six-foot privacy wall would look out of place. Runs are shorter, mature trees are in the way, and access to the back yard is often tight, all of which we account for when we quote.

Heritage, Holding Village, and the newer side

The planned communities are a different exercise. Lots are more uniform, HOAs are active, and the fence usually needs to look like the ones already on the street. Vinyl does well in that setting because PrivacyLock panels hold a straight uniform line and never need repainting to match. Ornamental aluminum with a SolarShield UV coating covers pool enclosures and the lots that back to common space, pond, or greenway where you would rather keep the view than block it.

Falls Lake sits just north and east of town, and the lots out that way tend to be wooded, sloped, and more irregular than the subdivision grid. That means grade-stepped fence lines, wider post spacing around root plates, and a real conversation about where water runs. Every post goes into concrete regardless, because red clay holds moisture and moves with the seasons, and because the winter ice storms this area gets put load on a fence that shallow-set posts simply do not survive.
