Fence Installation in Four Oaks, NC
Lots in Four Oaks run bigger than what we see closer to Raleigh, and the fencing follows from that. A typical job here is not a rectangle of privacy fence around a quarter acre. It is a boundary run along a road frontage, a pasture enclosure, a fenced yard carved out of a larger parcel, or a combination of all three with different materials in different places.
That means the estimate matters more than usual. Where a fence starts and stops, how many corners it turns, how many gates it needs and how wide those gates have to be will move the price more than the fence style does. We walk the whole line with you, count the corners and the gate openings, and give you one written number for the job rather than a per-foot figure that quietly ignores half the work.
South of Smithfield the ground rolls and the soil sits somewhere between Piedmont clay and coastal-plain loam. Neither one holds a post on its own. Every post we set goes in concrete, corner and gate posts get larger footings, and end assemblies are braced so a long tensioned run stays tight. The other consideration out here is exposure - a fence line running across open field takes the full force of a summer thunderstorm with nothing to break the wind, which is where proper post spacing and bracing earn their cost.
What we install around Four Oaks
For pasture and boundary work, field fence, woven wire, board fence and split rail all have a place, and mesh backing behind rails keeps animals from pushing through. For the yard around the house, wood privacy in pressure-treated pine is the most common request, with vinyl for people who do not want to stain anything again. Chain link is still the most cost-effective way to enclose a large dog area, and it disappears visually against a tree line better than most people expect.
The estimate is free and it happens on the property, not over the phone. Reach Superior Fence & Rail of Raleigh at (919) 335-4008 - our hours run around the clock, seven days a week - and we will come walk the line with you.

Four Oaks Fence Questions
How do I know exactly where my property line runs before you build?
Find your survey pins, or have a surveyor mark them. On acreage the existing tree line, ditch or old wire is often not the legal boundary, and we would rather spend an hour looking for pins than build a fence in the wrong place. If we cannot locate the line with confidence, we will set the fence inside it by a foot and tell you exactly what we did.
Can you fence just part of my land instead of the whole parcel?
Yes, and it is what most people out here actually want. A common setup is a fenced yard and dog area around the house with the rest of the parcel left open, or a fenced run along the road frontage only. We will quote the section you want and can leave the layout open so you can extend it later.
What kind of gate do I need for a tractor or trailer?
Measure your widest piece of equipment and add clearance for the turn coming in. Most people end up wanting a double-drive gate rather than a single, and gate posts need bigger footings than line posts because the gate works against them every time it swings. We hang them on hardware rated for the actual weight.
Do long fence runs in an open field need anything special?
Bracing at the ends and corners, mainly. A wire or rail fence crossing open ground takes wind and tension that a short backyard run never sees, so corner assemblies get built to hold that load. We also set the line by sight over the whole distance so it does not wander across the field.
